Music for Little Mozarts Studio Policy
Tuition and Fees
Tuition: Tuition is to be paid in advance and is due at the first lesson of each month. A $5.00 late fee will be assessed if tuition payments are not received after the 2nd week. Families enrolling more than one child in MLM will receive a $5 discount off each additional tuition.
Lesson Term: Tuition is based on 32 lessons, scheduled from the Tuesday after Labor Day through 4 weeks in May. The monthly tuition remains the same for each month regardless of how many lessons are in the month. “Music for Little Mozarts” is a 2-3 year program. To receive the most from the program parents are highly encouraged to follow through with the whole program. Additional dates may be added to the schedule for special occasions.
Other Fees: Registration and materials fees are due in full at the time of registration. The registration fee is non-refundable. The registration fee enrolls the family for the September through May school year. As students progress, additional music materials will be given to students. The cost of additional music materials will be added to the monthly tuition. Materials fees include Nevada Sales Tax.
Refunds: Refunds are not given after the first class of the session.
Attendance
Enrollment: Enrollment is limited to 6 per class.
Missed Lessons: No adjustments in tuition will be made for missed lessons. A reasonable number of missed lessons have been built into the schedule.
Illness: Please do not bring your child to class when he/she is ill. However, students are encouraged to attend even if they can’t play due to an injury to a hand or arm.
Teacher Leave: There will be one day of paid sick leave per teaching year to allow for teacher illness. You will be notified as soon as possible of the illness.
Teacher Availability: Teachers are available 5-10 minutes after class. Please understand that the time before class is our preparation time.
Practice and Parent Involvement
Parent Participation: An important aspect of a young student’s training is the presence, support and encouragement of a parent at lessons and in daily practice. Parents are welcome to observe class. All parents will join in the last 10 minutes of class so that the teacher can share what was learned in class and what to practice at home. Please bring a notebook to write down the assignments.
Practice: To insure success, students are expected to practice conscientiously everyday. Generally this means 15-20 minutes a day for Music for Little Mozarts students in book 2 and book 3. 10-15 minutes per day of practice for students in book 1 is encouraged. A consistent practice time and quiet space is highly recommended.
Other Important Details
Keyboard or Piano: Each family shall have a working keyboard or piano in the home for practice.
♫ Please arrive a few minutes early each lesson for children to socialize and get settled.
♫ Please provide a snack for the child before class and encourage the child to use the restroom before class.
♫ Please bring all necessary music materials to class each week.
♫ Students who repeatedly arrive unprepared, or without necessary music materials may be asked to discontinue lessons.
